The Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta concluded with a win in the final day's racing and overall victory for the RP Wallycento Magic Carpet3. The Southern Wind Trophy was awarded on behalf of the shipyard by Andrea Micheli, to the Southern Wind-built Reichel/Pugh-Nauta 100' Morgana.
The Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta concluded with a win in the final day's racing and overall victory for the Wallycento Magic Carpet3, owned by YCCS member Sir Lindsay Owen-Jones, assisted by tactician Jochen Schuemann.
In addition to the Silver Jubilee Cup for the winner of the Superyacht Division, the owner of Magic Carpet3, Sir Lindsay Owen-Jones, received the YCCS Trophy for the best result among the members of the organizing club and the Pantaenius Trophy for the best starts. Giorgio Armani is the new title sponsor of the 15th edition of the Superyacht Regatta, scheduled 31 May to 4 June 2022 on the waters of the Costa Smeralda. The 15th edition of the event officially opened the YCCS sporting calendar, as well as the Mediterranean superyacht sailing season. The four days of coastal races was set against the unique backdrop of the La Maddalena Archipelago, and accompanied by various social occasions ashore. The Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta is open to superyachts with a minimum length of 90 feet and multihulls of at least 50 feet in length.
