The first 42m E-volution GTS hull arrived this week at Perini Navi's Viareggio facility to begin outfitting. She will deliver spring 2021.
Based on the platform developed for the first 42-meter E-volution, with concept and styling by Perini Navi and naval architecture by Reichel/Pugh, the first unit in the second-generation 42m E-volution GTS series combines aluminum and carbon to deliver a 5 ton savings.
Featuring cutting edge exterior design with a maximum beam extending almost to the transom greatly enhances exterior and interior volume. The mast has been increased to “Panamax height” (62.5 meters) and the keel extended to a maximum depth of 7.40 meters. The new sail plan features a square top mainsail, an extended boom and a 4-meter bowsprit to maximize the sail surface. To reduce displacement and improve performance changes have been made the the deck house, various fittings are now carbon, and the propulsion system and structural features have been optimized.
