We have added new sections on our temporary blog with photos from the recent trials and launches of the Performance Cruiser/Racers that Reichel/Pugh Yacht Design has recently developed in collaboration with Nauta Yachts of Milano, Italy. Reichel/Pugh Yacht Design was reponsilble for the Naval Architecture for all three projects and Nauta Yachts was responsible for the General Concept, Interior Design and Exterior Styling of all three projects.

The Baltic 112 Nilaya was built by Baltic Yachts and was project managed by MCM Yacht Construction Management.

The SW94 Kiboko was built by Southern Wind Shipyard of Cape Town, South Africa.

The Advanced A66 was built by Advanced Yachts of Milano, Italy.

2011 Melbourne to King Island Race, Ocean Racing Club of Victoria, Melbourne, Australia.

Congratulations to Rob Date and the crew of the Reichel/Pugh designed and Composites Constructions built CC52 Scarlet Runner for their performance in the Melbourne to King Island 114nm Cat 2 Offshore Race.

Scarlet Runner took Line Honours, 1st Corrected in IRC and 1st Corrected in AMS on both the race to King Island and the Dash Race back to Melbourne.

 

Scarlet Runner was built by Composites Constructions of Melbourne, Australia.

2011 Islands Race, San Diego Yacht Club & Newport Harbor Yacht Club-California, USA.

4^th-5^th March 2011

Congratulations to all the owners and crews of the Reichel/Pugh designed yachts for their achievements in the 129nm 2011 Islands Race, hosted by the San Diego Yacht Club and the Newport Harbor Yacht Club.

Andy & Camille Rasdal's TP52 Valkyrie won the race by finishing 1^st Corrected Overall and was 2^nd to Finish and 1^st Corrected in the IRC Division of the i52 Class Association.

Jorge Ripstein's TP52 Patches was 3^rd Corrected Overall and was 1^st to Finish and 2^nd Corrected in the IRC Division of the i52 Class Association.

 

Valkyrie was built by Longitud Cero Composites of Castellon, Spain.

Patches was built by Green Marine of Lymington, UK.

31^st St. Maarten Heineken Regatta & Gill Commodores Cup, Sint Maarten Yacht Club- St. Maarten

3^rd-6^th March 2011 

 

Congratulations to all the owners and crews of the Reichel/Pugh designed yachts for their achievements in the 31^st St. Maarten Heineken Regatta and Gill Commodores Cup, hosted by the Sint Maarten Yacht Club.

In the CSA 1R Division of the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta Peter Peaker's Reichel/Pugh designed/SOCA Sailboats built RP44 Peake Yacht Services Storm won 1^st Place.

In the CSA 1C Division Daniel Stump's Reichel/Pugh designed/Baltic Yachts built RP78 POS/Lupa of London Performance Cruiser took 3^rd place.

In the CSA 2 Division Mark Plaxton's Melges 32 Team INTAC/Crowley took 1^st Place, Andrea Scarabelli's Melges 24 Budget  Marine/Gill finsihed 2^nd and Frits Bus/Peter Houtzager's Melges 24 Coors Light was 3^rd.

In the Gill Commodore's Cup the RP44 Peake Yacht Services Storm finished 3^rd in Class 1 and in Class 2 the Melges 32 Team INTAC/Crowley took 1^st Place, the Melges 24 Budget Marine/Gill took 2^nd and Roualt Didier's Melges 24 French Connection was 3^rd.

 

Peake Yacht Sevices Storm was built by SOCA Sailboats of Trinidad, West Indies.

POS/Lupa of London was built by Baltic Yachts of Bosund, Finland.

2011 Audi Sydney Harbor Regatta, Middle Harbour Yacht Club - Sydney Australia

4^th-7^th March 2011

Congratulations to all the owners and crews of the Reichel/Pugh designed yachts for their achievements in the 2011 Audi Sydney Harbor Regatta, hosted by the Middle Harbour Yacht Club.

Stephen Ainsworth and the crew of the Reichel/Pugh designed/McConaghy built IRC63 Loki finished 2^nd in IRC Div A after 5 races .

With the points scored in this regatta Loki moved to 2^nd place in the Audi IRC Australian Championship Class A.

Robert Oatley's Reichel/Pugh designed/McConaghy built 66ft Mini Maxi Wild Oats X took Line Honours in IRC Div A in 5 out of 6 races and only finished 2^nd in 1 race by 1 sec behind Loki.

Bruce Hogan and the crew of the Reichel/Pugh designed and Marten Yachts built Marten 49 Performance Cruiser Perpetual Mocean finished 1^st in IRC and 3^rd in PHS in the Ocean Passage Series Division.

In the Super 30 Division Kim Williams and the crew of the Melges 32 Rock N' Roll took 1^st Place and Geoff Masters and the crew of the Melges 32 Jolt took 2^nd place under AMS Rating.

In the Melges 24 Division James Mayjor and the crew of Roger That finished 1st, Warwick Rookly and the crew of Bandit finished 2^nd and Kym Nisbet and the crew of Kaito finished 3^rd 

Loki and Wild Oats X were built by McConaghy Boats of Monal Vale, Australia.

Congratulations to Richard Oland and the crew of the Reichel/Pugh designed/Davie Norris built Southern Cross 52 Vela Veloce for winning the IRC Zero division and taking 2nd Overall in IRC corrected in the RORC Carribean 600, hosted by the RORC & the Antigua Yacht Club.

2011 Lexus Lincoln Regatta, Port Lincoln Yacht Club-Port Lincoln, Australia.

Congratulations to Rob Date and the crew of the Reichel/Pugh designed/Composites Constructions built CC52 Scarlet Runner and to Geoff Boettcher and the crew of the Reichel/Pugh designed/Hart Marine built IRC51 for their performance in the Lexus Lincoln Regatta, hosted by the Port Lincoln Yacht Club.

Following their record breaking triffecta win in the Lexus Port Adelaide to Port Lincoln Race, Scarlet Runner took 1st Place in IRC on a tie break with Secret Men's Buisness 3.5 and won the Lexus Lincoln Regatta.  The winner of the 2010 Rolex Sydney Hobart Geoff Boettcher's Secret Men's Buisness 3.5 was tied in points with Scarlet Runner after the last race and as a result of the tie breaker, Scarlet Runner had won the last race,  finished 2nd in IRC and PHS.

 

Scarlet Runner was built by Composites Constructions of Braeside, Australia.

Secret Men's Buisness 3.5 was built by Hart Marine of Melbourne, Australia.

Congratulations to Rob Date and the crew of the Reichel/Pugh designed/Composites Constructions built CC52 Scarlet Runner for their triffecta win in the 2011 Lexus Adelaide to Port Lincoln race, hosted by the Port Lincoln Yacht Club. Scarlet Runner took Line Honours, 1^st in IRC corrected, 1^st in PHS corrected and smashed the race record, previously held by the RP IRC51 Secret Men's Buisness 3.5, by 2 hours & 20 mins.

Geoff Boettcher's Reichel Pugh Designed/Hart Marine built IRC51 Secret Men's Buisness 3.5 was 2^nd yacht to finish behind Scarlet Runner and took 2^nd in IRC corrected and 2^nd in PHS corrected.

 

Scarlet Runner was built by Composites Constructions of Braeside, Australia.

Secret Men's Buisness 3.5 was built by Hart Marine of Melbourne, Australia.

Congratulations to Bill Wild and the crew of the Reichel/Pugh Designed/McConaghy built IRC55 Rodd & Gunn Wedgetail for taking Line Honours in the 2011 Flinders Islet Race, hosted by the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia.

Stephen Ainsworth's Reichel/Pugh designed/McConaghy built IRC63 Loki is the current race record holder  (Loki broke the record in October 2010 with a time of 7 hours, 48 minutes, 44 seconds) and currently leads the Blue Water Pointscore Series which will conclude with the Audi Sydney Offshore Newcastle Yacht Race on the 8th of April 2011.

Rodd & Gunn Wedgetail and Loki were built by McConaghy Boats of Mona Vale, Australia.
